Info About Your Flow!

May 28, 2018

Ladies! this one is for you :)

I recently subscribed to the app, MyFLO.

“MyFLO is a period tracking and hormone-balancing tool that teaches you how to take care of and tap into your body's cyclical, biochemical hormonal patterns.”

It has been life altering! I feel as though I am very aware of my body’s sensitivities, hormones, and cycle… but, I never really synced my nutrition intake, exercise, and brain function with the symptoms that I was feeling on a weekly basis as my hormones changed.

Did you know that there are 4 stages within your cycle? I’ll share them with you (and the nutrition/exercise/brain function you can be doing to help you feel your best on the daily!).

Follicular

This is when you are the most creative with work/art. Focus on trying new adventurous workouts that are fun and exciting like ButiYoga or dance, and you want to eat fresh and vibrant foods with lots of veggies and lean protein.

Ovulation

Your communication is on point this week- pitch ideas and sell! You have a ton of energy so go for high intensity workouts with sprints, and fill up on fibrous fruit. Also think of lighter grains like corn and quinoa.

Luteal

You will complete a ton of tasks so get your lists ready. Strength train during this week and eat a lot of foods that are high in vitamin B. Also add in roasted root veggies and dark leafy greens.

Menstrual

Dig into your data and analyze your results with work or reflect on your life. Be ok with napping and skipping the gym. Or go for a walk and do some yoga/pilates. Focus on healthy fats, seafood and low glycemic fruits.

Do you use an app to record your food, nutrition, mood, or cycle? It has opened up a whole new world for me :)
